While seasoning they are regularly testing for moisture and are only packed for sale when they reach below 18% moisture content.
All of our wood is felled, cut, split and packaged using only electricity, which 45% is supplied through the use of our own solar panels. We hope to double this to 90% by 2026.
There are several reasons we have decided not to kiln dry our wood. As you will be aware of climate change, we do not believe that burning 2 to 3 tonnes of wood to dry 18 tonnes of wood regardless of quality or grade is good for the climate.
